This year has been challenging for most. I feel we all need to release some negative energy or let go of something that we have been holding onto since Coronavirus hit.
Letting go of things, beliefs, people and places that no longer serve us creates room for what we DO desire to come into our lives–whether it’s a new hobby, home, new friendship, or new energy that we bring to our body.
Letting go allows life to carry you closer to your higher purpose and a more true rendition of self.
A way to let go is with a simple nod of gratitude to what we are letting go for everything it has done for us (good or bad), and then try to move on.
A few years ago I was made aware about Marie Kondo’s book, The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up: The Japanese Art of Decluttering and Organizing and now there’s a hit Netflix series inspired by it.
The premise is that if an item in your home does not « spark joy » for you anymore, it is time to remove it.
A tidy home can bring about a calm and motivated mindset.
Your challenge today is to go through one small area in your home or on an electronic device, and remove what no longer brings you joy.
Say thank you, and let it go!
Set a timer for 5 minutes; keep it short and simple. Don’t let yourself become overwhelmed with the task. Treat it as a moving meditation.
It could be as easy as going through your sock drawer, your kitchen spice rack, removing any toiletries that don’t get used from your bathroom or deleting apps that you don’t use from your phone.
Does it spark joy? If not- express your appreciation, and then remove it.
Free yourself by freeing up your life.
